Submission Guidelines

Material to be considered for posting on The Towns of Wentworth County website should be e-mailed to . I can accept electronic documents in most popular word processing formats (e.g. plain text, Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect). Avoid Adobe pdf (portable document format) files unless they are of a professionally published document or an official record which will require no further editing prior to being posted. If the size of the e-mail attachment would exceed a couple of MB, please consider burning the files onto a CD and mailing it to me instead. Graphic files should be as high quality as possible. I will convert them to a suitable format for the Web, if necessary.

If you have photos or other objects to contribute to the website but have no means of converting them into computer files yourself, I may be able to scan or take digital photographs of them for you. Please e-mail me the details so that we can discuss how to get them to me. If you choose to mail me material (see below for my mailing address), you do so at your own risk: make sure to package and label it carefully and to insure it for its full value. If you ask to have the material returned, I will return it as soon as I have finished scanning or photographing it. Please ensure that you include your return address!

All submissions relevant to the purpose of this site will be carefully considered for posting. However, I reserve the right to decide what is or is not posted and to edit written submissions for reasons of length or clarity (as they say in the newspaper).

I will acknowledge on the website the author/artist/photographer/source of any material posted. (Provided, of course, I know it.) Please include as many details as possible about the source of any material you submit. If you wrote the article, drew the sketch or took the photograph, make sure that you state clearly that you are giving permission for posting on this website. If you believe the material to be in the public domain, please say so. If you think that the material might be copyrighted, let me know whom you think the copyright holder is and if you have already asked for permission to reproduce it here.
